The Blueberry Nights

today was spent meeting the propective tutee's dad, and meeting up with michelle.

we watched the The Blueberry Nights, which turned out to be quite boring. But it was what i would call, an abstract and artistic show. The sounds, images and words are very artfully arranged. But the plot leaves very much more to be desired.

sat at starbucks for ages having some deep heart-to-heart talk. haha. okay, some news were shocking. i feel like i've been thrown a whole new perspective of what's to come in the next few years.

apart from that, i shan't update too much since this blog will turn old in a while's time. cherish the last moments while you can.

and thank you michelle for the 3 pairs of earrings, two shirts and skirt ((: you'll get a big treat on my payday. Haha!

oh joy!

There's a first time for everything.

but its even sweeter when the first time comes in threes (:

-

Apart from that, the day was spent having a good pariss buffet lunch. (haha phoebe, jealous?), shopping for 5 tops and 2 skirts in half-and-hour, and going to meet the council people in the evening.

Headed to maxwell for dinner with celine jafnie charleen, followed by drinks at CLINIC at Clarke Quay. Truth-or-truth session where we spilled our guts out to each other ((:

Faizal and tiff joined us as well, and the just-booked-out faizal regaled us with NS stories! Haha, then came the cam-whoring (with char's camera) and finally, supper at BK with cel jaf and fai.

I had fun today ((:

in the rain

today turned out to be one of the wettest days of my life.
no, not wettest in the wow-i'm-fantasizing-of-getting-on-with-edison-chen sense, but you know. Literally. Drenched. Wet.

I cycled along east coast in the rain today. the wind was strong, and the rain was pelting against my face in such a way that i had to squint and cycle. there was no mud guard, so the puddles of water landed on my back. but somehow, it was oddly exhilarating.

and i'm really competitive to annoying strangers. hah.
eat dust, my dear boy. eat dust.

i took what i would like to think of as "artistic" shots.

( pretty artistic shots)

(morbid artistic shots)

(and i copied kat's star jump)

(finally after a whole day of cycling... where's sam? oh. i must have forgetten the sun block.)

whwhwhwhwhwhhw (silence please)

Hello!

Hanern just sent the orientation schedule and it looks like mondays off is a great blessing! I GET TO CRASH THE WALK-IN. Hahaha. Am excited. And interested to see how cheers with the word "laszlo" turns out.

And of course, looking forward mass dance! (omg my ipod played carwash/upsidedown/summernights consecutively just now, its amazingwhwhw)

Han ern commented: "The juniors will be wondering why this CatHighBoy (he's impersonating Cat High!) and TKgirl knows all the old dances!"

HAH. We were too enthu about entering nj, we went to learn past years dances ;)

Other news:
1) I hit 30 before lunch today!

2) Bryan says my blog gives the impression that i have a boyfriend!

3) Listening to 16-year-old "love" life story is interesting!

4) I'm off the next four days. Ask me out! And anyone wanna go NYE countdown?

babble

i hit 70 at 12noon today.
that was after plenty of passive smoking (everyone else was in a rush to somewhere), as well as getting hit on by several 23-year-old plus bankers/financial analysts.
Gah.
nevertheless;
i was all smiles when i hit 70 ((:

oh. i was asked to do 30 more tomorrow.
wish me luck.

Warwick Law School (finally!) airmail-ed me.
It's tempting. Haha.
But so's UCL Econs.
Ho.
(okay, let's think about this after results. after all...... oh nevermind.)

Thank you Bryan for being my model today! HEH.
I'm sorry for the silent fits of laughter i executed behind the photographer.
((((:

Don't you think my posts are oddly disconnected and incoherent when i'm tired after work? How embarassing. I really need a new blog.

I need a quote as well.

Where are you?

Goodnight.

YAWN

thank you to everyone who helped.

i did a street poll along orchard road today (wednesday).
i did a street poll along orchard road today (wednesday) in heels.

i'm tired.

interesting news of the day: Some random stranger made me his god-daughter.
-ha ha ha-

shout-outs of the day:
1) thank you ben for the nice lunch treat for the whole team at holland v (though you're definitely not reading this haha)
2) thank you bryan for attempting to calm me down when im stressed ((:
3) and thank you for the sms from faraway-land again (ok, i get excited when i see overseas messages. hahahaha)
4) *repeat* thank you to everyone who helped (((:

the sleepyhead is now bidding everyone goodnight.

the very unchristmassy christmas

i woke up moody sleepy and groggy this morning. thanks to celine's double whammy of messages asking me to go to town.

i went down to get breakfast for the cousin and got caught in this huge mega thunderstorm. In fact, it was so huge, if you squint your eyes really really small, it can even pass off as a snow storm.

looks like we've gotten ourselves an (almost) white christmas after all.

well, it certainly did make me less sleepy, less groggy, but still as moody as ever.

i'm sorry i missed the tai-tai club outing. interestingly, just the other day, i decided to scare my mum by announcing that my ambition in life is to become a tai-tai.

she was horrified. Ha ha ha. but she needn't be because the idea horrifies me as well.

hmm, i'm still moody.

nevertheless;
thank you for the call from faraway-land. although, it backfired. HAHA. Its the thought that counts ;)

and thank you celine for the Christmas card in the mail ((:

so this was Christmas.
Somehow, i feel that the prelude gearing up for Christmas feels way more Christmassy then this.

Hello Christmas

Christmas eve did not turn out the way it was supposed to be.

For one, the original plan was to stick to last year's tradition of going around town with the seniors and cousin, eating walking spraying arcade-ing and drinking coffee.

But the seniors pang-sehed. (singlish word. i'm recieving a lot of bad influence recently)

So the difficult task of planning where to bring my cousin (i couldn't bear to disappoint him and say eve plans are cancelled) came to me, and solely to me.

There was the suggestion that i still brought him to town of course, and do the same eating walking spraying arcade-ing and drinking coffee.

But the idea got shot down into the drain when i suddenly recalled the lecher-like characters we met at 2plus am at Orchard after we left the seniors last year. -cringes-

And then, there was the idea of simply bringing him to a movie. But again, i was reminded of two years back, when i brought my cousin to a movie, a guy came to extort money from me. And I (stupidly or wisely, you decide) gave it to him.

But despite the two examples showing me in a very weakling-damsel-in-distress-i-cant-survive-on-my-own light, i must hasten to assure you that I AM NOT AT ALL LIKE THAT. Normally. After all, this is coming from the girl who fought a 12-year-old karate-learning boy in the playground when she was a mere 8 years old remember?

Besides, i have another reason for rejecting the latter idea. My cousin pees approximately 4 times in a movie. AND i have to accompany him to the toilet. WHICH puts me in the most tetchy sort of moods ever. So nah uh, bad bad idea.

In the end, we parkway-ed, steamboated, went arcade-ing, borders, drank bubble tea and went for an ICE-SKATING COUNTDOWN THINGY HAHAHA.

I attempted to give him the Whitest Christmas possible in Sunny Singapore.

Three very funny things happened in the course of the night.
Funny thing number one revolved around the cousin. More specifically, when the cousin stepped into a puddle of mud, and felt too icky to wear his shoe until he found a place to wash it.

(so he wrapped his feet up in a hankerchief and attempted to walk like that)

(he walked. and walked..)
(then he decided he looked too stupid with a shoe on one feet and sock on another, so he wore socks on BOTH feet)

(now he walked. and walked... with two pairs of socks)

(finally, he got his shoes clean. whee)

HAHAHA. You should have seen me. I laughed and laughed and laughed non-stop. For about 20 minutes. All I did was hur-hur-hur *gasps for air* hur-hur-hur *giggles* hur-hur-hur *stops walking clutches stomach and squats down to laugh* hur-hur-hur *tears run down cheeks*

Its a case of YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE.

hur-hur-hur

Funny thing number two had to do with the cousin again.

After he fell down while ice-skating, he decided he needed longer pants to wear. In an attempt to hurry get changed and back into the rink, he took out his aeroplane pajama bottom (it was the only long pants he had) and started pulling his pants down at the brink of the rink and attempting to WEAR THE AEROPLANE PAJAMA BOTTOM THERE AND THEN WITHOUT TAKING OFF HIS SKATES OR CARING HE WAS UNDRESSING IN PUBLIC.
hur-hur-hur

Again, you just had to be there. I convulsed into laughter again at his adamant refusal to not listen to my advice (who wears aeroplane pjs in public oh my god) and (okay if you must go change in the toilet or else shame shame la!)

No pictures for this, cos i did not feel at all inclined to shoot an 8-year-old strip tease. Luckily, he finally saw sense and did not wear the pj bottoms. phew.

And finally, funny thing number three has to do with me.

Well, I would never have thought that the first time I finally deign to give my phone number to a random guy who asks, it will be to an 11-year-old.

hur-hur-hur.

An 11-year-old played iceball fights with me. An 11-year-old stuffed ice down my back. An 11-year-old asked me for my number so suddenly that i gave it unthinkingly. An 11-year-old immediately sms-ed me 5 times in 15 minutes (despite me only replying the first one)

I wonder if the 11-year-old knows I'm an 18-year-old.

hur-hur-hur

But despite all the laughter, funny things, and people I was surrounded with, Christmas had a tinge of poignant sadness today.
Something feels missing. I wonder what/why/how come.

Dear Santa, all is want for Christmas is... to be happy. Simple enough, ain't it?

But of course, I wouldnt mind a nice box of chocolates. Or a nice new laptop. Or books to read. Or new clothes (which will magically appear in my wardrobe you understand, cos i hate the hustle of shopping). Or psp games (because i still have none)

Or let's not get too materialistic here, 6 As on my A'level cert, a scholarship and studying in UK would do very nicely too.

hur-hur-hur.
Its 3.44am. No wonder I'm starting to sound incoherent.
goodnight world, so i can wake up early tomorrow to hear Italian gossip ;)

hohoho.

Sunday, December 23, 2007

Once upon a time;

I am seriously thinking of starting a new blog.

Maybe one to usher in the year 2008. After all, a lot has changed. I feel like I'm entering a completely different phase in life.

Reading The Sunday Times was great fun today. Because I kept staring at the bylines and going: "ohhh, i know who that is!". Typical teenagers get star-struck; yours truly gets journalist-struck. The singlish word alamak has never seemed so apt.

Finally, the day was spent with theBOY trawling through town (yes again. Singapore has way too limited chill-out places). We subway-ed, went to Borders, Toys'r'us, Secret Recipe and soft-toy shopping.

Thank you for the Cheesecake ((:

three days to christmas

SO, the day was spent with misscelineteoyingzhen. i'm sorry i was late. i'm turning into the girl in our relationship. oh dang. it must be your haircut dear.

if you recognise the pictures, you'd guess that we had lunch at Bakerzin having sinful dessert. Lunch was a blast, with you usual girly chit-chat. There's so much to catch up on because someone had to go off to Greece the minute interesting things occured in my life. Hah. But no worries, its better late than never. At least you heard the stories in the end.

The toilet pictures are there on purpose to piss bryan off. (HAHA) Bryan, if you're reading this, i'm sure you'll start shouting: What is it with girls and toilet pictures?! Its so disgusting!

As usual, I dragged the dear girl off to starbucks while I toffee-nutted, she tazo chai tea-ed, and we continued chatting. As for what we chatted about, nah uh, i ain't telling. Some things; a girl's gotta keep mum.

I finally recieved jaf's postcard in the snail mail today. It cracked me up because he sent it while he was in Indonesia, and this arrived after he returned to Singapore. Very much later. But nevertheless, you deserve a response:

Dear Jaf (aka Bim), thank you for your postcard. don't worry, im not green with envy about you being in "borodudar" and "yogyakarta" because i know you're not. at least, not right now(: anyway, feel free to steal my "gay boyfriend" because I've decided to go for sad guys instead. "Gay" doesn't cut it out for me anymore. you're Welcomed to him noW Wor. as to saying hello to the "bittergourd", i can't, since he's away in US now. But nevertheless, we shall have great fun on an Easties outing before your ns. Love, Sam (aka Bo).

Ps. Aren't you glad bittergourd is in US now and cannot access this post? Fret not, i'll blog dilligently and ensure this post ends up in "history" before he gets back and murders us. Cheerios.

How to survive without a computer for 5 days

I ought to give myself a pat on the back.

I mean seriously, check out the last date I blogged. I spent 5 ENTIRE DAYS abstaining from the internet. Scratch the pat on the back, I ought to get a netizen-equivalent nobel prize for this amazing feat.

And if you (yes YOU, fellow netizen of this new tech-savvy generation) ever find yourself in a similar situation as me (that dratted untrusy com, i swear), fret not. Presenting to you "How to survive without a computer for 5 days". Enjoy (:

[Day One]
Distract yourself by going out.

And who better to go out with than with your 5 other fellow captains and Mr Sito? Like Hanern said: Six, always.

[Day 2]
Immerse yourself in the first day of work. When you reach home and feel bored, go swimming.

[Day 3]
Immerse yourself in the second day of work. When you reach home and feel the itch to use the net, do mundane chores like washing the clothes. And read TTTW on your bed. Its interesting enough to keep your mind off the computer.

[Day 4]
It's a public holiday. There's no work and plenty of free time to strain your extremely internet-less and frazzled nerves. But keep reading, and when it gets too much, go out, have swensen's, take stupid pictures and drink toffeenut. It really makes you day so much better.

If you look closely at the two shots of me and dad. Shot one featured my very skinny daddy with a tummy. I scolded him and urged him to suck in his tummy (the way sumsum advises haha), and tada! In the second picture, there's so much excess cloth. Its like he undergone some mariefrance treatment or something. My daddy can pose for those before and after pictures, yes?

[Day 5]
You're almost there. Just get through the day at work (no, i did not believe in cyberloafing on the job even when i got my internet connection. it feels like a horrible thing to do), and rush home to use the internet! (yes well, i cheated a bit and used bryan's com to check my hotmail) But nevertheless, I've survived the 5 days.

Now hand me my netizen-equilavent nobel prize while i craft my thank-you speech.

-
(ps. ignore the article-like tone. i've been reading a lot of papers. and magazines. you'll get the the old sam back real soon. she's off for the next four days you see. the old girl will emerge. just you wait and watch.)
-

Okay. Yours truly is back. hmmm work has been good so far. At least, today working on assignments was pretty interesting. The rapid phone calls, finding out more, unravelling different information. Haha. I'm feeling the zest. Are you?

People-wise have been good too. Fellow interns (but in other far-away departments) like chin ghee, bryan and zi liang, are nice travel and lunch partners, despite our age differences. Thank you chinghee for being my bedok-to-work partner. And Byran for being so nice and accompanying me for lunch today instead of going TOAPAYOH with your fellow age groups. Heh.

Mr Yap Han Ern, you have to do something with your looks. My fellow interns asked me today: Is he your supervisor?, when you came to meet me during lunch. Tsk. What sort of twin are you Changgg? Look my age please (:

I'm off for the next four days. People, ask me out! Haha. My dear and wonderful seniors have very nicely ps-ed me for Christmas eve celebrations. Any takers? I'm bored.

Goodnight.

absence makes the heart grow fonder; true or false?

am currently at jurong east's macdonalds making use of my last moments with my laptop before i hand it over to acer.

gah. netizen withdrawal symptoms have started.

proudest moment of the day so far: i sprinted for the bus (about 100m) in the drizzling rain, in 3-inch heels and carrying this horribly heavy laptop.

((:

alright. really goodbye now.

perhaps goodbye; perhaps not

hello. this may be the last post in a while, considering i'm bringing my dear (un)trustworthy laptop to the acer repair center tomorrow.

or maybe not. depending on the ability to charm the repair people to do it on the spot. haha. i suppose i could rant and rave on about my netizen withdrawal symptoms.

-
today marked the second last day of freedom (or rather, now its after midnight, it IS the last)

was desperate to go out, got ps-ed by celine in the morning, messaged many other people to ask them out on a last minute's notice, no one could. ah, that summed up the rather tetchy and irritable day.

silver linings in the form of TWO DINNERS at two different restaurants (haha its a first, but boy was it exciting and filling!), as well as watching that Goong second prince on star awards. Visual delight (:

ransacked my entire wardrobe and tried on different permutations of work clothes. gah. i still have no idea what interns have to wear.

i need my sleep. goodnight. hopefully, i'll be back here tomorrow updating on the house-captain's plus mr sito dinner. but in any case if i'm not, i'll keep a pen and paper journal to chronicle the days.

after all, work starts on tueday. first time and all.
its a milestone; really.

fill up the void, will you?

i just spent the past three hours changing my blog template.

but i wasn't able to change a minor part (the links were underlined), which made the entire template look distasteful. so poof, i deleted it.

what a waste of three hours.

then again, there's nothing else to do online suddenly.

winstontheidiot stole the blogskin i wanted.

apart from that, the day can be summarised into grams birthday lunch, shopping in town and playing with cousins.

2 skirts, 1 pants, 1 cardigan.

looks like i'm ready to roll.

Because it's not everyday you get to see the inside of a basin pipe

have you ever seen the inside of a basin pipe?
No, you haven't?
Well, lucky you.

because you wouldn't want to. its the most disgusting, gross and horrible sight ever. murky green-brown residue clinging on to the once-white surface. and it isnt just your sense of sight that gets disturbed. the smell. urgh. like puke and rotten food meshed together into one big lump of smelly things.

err Sam, why were you staring into a basin pipe?

Well, when you accidentally drop your thousand-dollar diamond pendant (yes, the one on my necklace) into the toilet basin (i am SUCH a messed-up kid i know. i always end up getting myself into such situations), you kind of attempt all ways and means to get it back.

Even if it means crouching low and putting your face reaaallly close to the disgusting gunk while you use your fingers (yes, fingers!) to dig out the treasure. You know, just yesterday i was telling someone that I'm suffering a quarter-life crisis and didn't know what I want in life anymore;

Now i'm pretty strong in my conviction that I DO NOT WANT TO BE A PLUMBER WHEN I GROW UP.

Of course we all know what will happen next. The first person who says that will be the first to marry a plumber next time.

Aww shucks. Think of the stench of his fingers.

-
Apart from that, I spent time packing my books today.

The books got too much and exploded around my entire room.

Ended up clearing the entire contents of my soft-toy/cards/sentimental stuff cupboard unto my bed, to house my books.

And came across funny old pictures, which i took pictures of. (haha)

then came the horrible things i made as a kid. like this horrible doll i made in primary school. she looks deformed. acccks.

my one and only sewing attempt. someone pay me 10bucks to carry this bag out. What you can't tell its a bag?! Oh. Oh, okay.

Secretive bitches are cool

Hello. Am currently feeling very very happy.
If you're one of those whom I do confide in, come ask me why.
And if you're not,
well;
happy wondering.
(:

Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

1) Woke up at a whooping 5am today to do some stuff

2) Someone made my day today

3) Thank you for the sms from faraway-land (((:

4) The V.I.T (Very Important Thing) I talked about in the previous post didn't go very well

5) But nevertheless, am still feeling very happy and Christmas-y thanks to the overload of Christmas songs in town

6) Whenever I make a new VJCian friend, we always end up bonding via bitching discussing about a certain somebody

7) Lunched at the nice soba place at paragon again

8) Shopped at paragon and bought more clothes (Project "Fill Sam's Wardrobe" is progressing well)

9) Trawled through numerous Starbucks outlets in town to find one with cushion seats

10) Toffee-nuted

11) Sprawled on the rare-and-hard-to-find cushion seat unglamly and read TTTW for four hours

12) Mum commented that somebody is, i quote, "very, very ugly" (HAHA)

13) HAPPY 18th CELINE -->

14) Am still feeling "happy and Christmas-y", albeit a little confused

15) Am staring at an advert for an IT fair and grinning broadly

16) If you actually understood perfectly all 16 points, you are either a genius or know me very well.

Wait, you probably don't exist.

So call me a secretive bitch

i must admit, i'm one hellava busybody.
everyone seems to be a friend of a friend huh?
welcome to this creepily small world.

-
13th dec 2007; 1030am
is, well, quite important.
at least, to me.

i:
1) am slightly nervous
2) have nothing to wear
3) hope to recover from my cold to gain back some glow (internal rhyme not intended)
4) need to shake my cough away
5) want to put past bad experiences behind me

even if you have no idea what i'm talking about (hence the title),
wish me luck.

and thank you.

shut up and go away

its pouring cats and dogs outside now.

woke up with a flu but i didn't listen to my body's desperate plea for some rest at home. ended up at tm watching The Golden Compass. it was interesting all right, but altogether familiar. the typical tried-and-tested plot that brought us LOTR and the Matrix. it's all about the "chosen one" isn't it?

more damage to the bank account came in the form of a new cardigan and new levi's jeans (haha!).

got caught in a thunderstorm on the way back. i suppose this accounts for the sudden worsening of my cold. gah.

of old times

today was spent checking out the new Kallang Ice-Skating rink. hmmm, it's certainly newer and bigger, but the prices are steeper as well. No unlimited time promotions either. Ouch.

Headed to the the brand new BORDERS at Parkway to get The Time Traveler's Wife (because someone once recommended it, so it'd better be good).

BORDERS was pretty, with nice comfy chairs and a cool computer catologue system,
yet;

I still miss the old MPH.
The familiar smell of books as I walk into the store.
The way I know all the sections by heart now.

A chunk of my childhood was spent sprawled on the floor devouring books at an alarming rate,
a good 5/6 hours each day.

And there used to be a worker who said "bye bye" each time I left the store.
I remember Dad saying he actually meant "buy buy".
And I laughed.

Slowly, the pieces of childhood are being chipped away.

Life has a strange and unexpeccted way of twisting you up into knots doesn't it?

the repair guy said the motherboard is screwed. repairs will be a whooping six hundred bucks. pooh. i'm too broke to even register that into my head.

ended up at grandma's using the computer there to do work. am now a hundred bucks richer after proof-reading and editing a PRC's university project for her.

-grin-

now now, should the money go to the "sam needs new clothes" fund or the "sam needs psp games" fund? HAHA. But knowing me, I'll just keep it and pretend to be rich. Hoho.

on another note, someone told me something interesting surprising today. then, i thought of the other times i've heard such stuff, and realised it has all been through msn. How odd. Guess our generation is really entering the netizen world.

finally, if anyone ever doubts my intergrity, i only have one word to say: Don't.

the little things in life

Today I was opening up the skirt Michelle gave me yesterday when an envelope fell out.

It was an early Christmas card;
a small gesture, but it brought a smile to my face.

We all rampage through life so quickly that we fail to see that its the littlest things that count the most.

-
Apart from that, the day was spent re-reading potter7 and having dinner at Al Forno's.

And interestingly, someone flitted into my mind more than once today.

Bikini-shopping

Bikini-shopping

Hello. The laptop's back to vibrating like crazy.

I've been attempting to operate my newly-acquired psp. Attempting, but failing miserably. Help will be much appreciated (:

And finally, bikini-shopping with Michelle for her bintan trip was fun today. Plenty of girly chit-chat followed, bluffing her uni friends that i'm really her sister, and of course, teaching her how to camwhore at Hyatt hotel's comfy seats.

Plus, we got an earring each.

Lovely.

Graduating with a BANG

The introduction
So, as I was telling Kat, the whole pre-prom, prom and post-prom event is so long, I'll need to divide my blogpost into segments to sound coherent. So here you go, a segregated post, but nevertheless, enjoy.

Because baby, LENGTH does matter after all
Yesterday afternoon was spent having a haircut (mum's great idea, considering I usually hate haircuts as they tend to turn out wonky). And for the first time ever, I kept getting paranoid and cringing whenever the hairdresser snips off a significant length of hair. -narrows eyes and stares at hairdresser suspiciously- I guess I've formed an attachment to my (quite) long hair already. Hah, my indian friends will be pleased to know they've influenced me to prefer longer hair now.

And we've brought our relationship to a whole new level
Dressed up in the hotel room (under 45minutes?!), and the first thing sumsum commented on when I got into my dress was: Your boobs. HMPH. Ended up obtaining a cleavage by exchanging bras with Kat (zomg. we've progressed from simply groping each other on fb to bra sisters!), which was uh, bigger. Which also meant it kept slipping down and I had to discreetly adjust it every 5 minutes. Hoho.

The Prom
was your usual blast of photo-taking (you get the full picture diaherrea below, but just be thankful i didn't upload all 155 photos). Prom King: Faizal. Prom Queen: Samantha Ng. Haha, exactly what I predicted (and voted for) before prom. Both councillors and both mainstream. Ah, sweet (((:

Say, are you the girl who won the PSP?
Two years ago I won the 2nd prize in my prom lucky draw (a stereo set!). So yesterday, I was still jokingly telling my mum, how nice it would be to win second prize again, so that it will make up for the price of the prom ticket. Now now, guess who won the second prize this time? Haha, a PSP at that. And every member of the male species officially hates me and keeps coming up to me randomly and asking about the PSP. Heee.

Of unglam moments
Unglam moment number 1 has to do with two other people who shall not be named to protect everyone's dignity. A friend and I decided to take a picture with an accquaintance. But I felt that I didn't know the accquaintance well enough, so I didn't want to try. However, the friend said that she knows him and decided to ask. And so we did, and both took a photo with the accquaintance. Finally when we're done, the accquaintance asks the friend: So do I know you? What's your name huh? (OMG!) And then I decided to ask the accquaintance, do you at least know my name? His reply: Yeah, you're Sam. House captain what. (note that the latter implies that he only knows me by reputation but not personally) Ahhh well, it was quite an unglam and embarassing moment. But dearie, be comforted by the thought that we will never see NJCians again.

Unglam moment number 2 was my reaction to having my lucky draw number called out. Was in the midst of taking a picture when I heard the number and started screaming and jumping! Had to run all the way to the back to grab my bag (i thought the ticket was inside) then run all the way to the front to get to the emcee. But, the emcee couldn't see me, despite my jumping and screaming and kept counting down so i had to run even faster. Gahh, I need higher heels and a louder voice next time. Of course, the worst part was going on stage and realising my ticket was on the table at the back. Thank you celine for running back to fetch it for me (:

How to tell the difference between an NJ party and an AC party
We crashed AC's post-prom, and boy was it an eyeopener. While NJ dance parties are usually pretty decent, dancing at AC's post-prom meant skin-to-skin contact with everyone, and random guys coming up to you and grinding you from behind. NJ couples are also pretty decent and discreet too, whereas AC had PDAs at every corner. Haha, part of the party disintergrated to me kat and phoebe rating couples if they would, to use an euphemism, bring their relationship to a new level that night. Then we thought of nj couples, figured no one would, and started feeling thankful we're all in NJ. (phew!) But of course, the biggest difference that hit closest to home was put aptly by phoebe: In the AC party, we're just with the masses dancing on the dance floor. At the NJ party on the other hand, we'll be dancing on that stage.

The hotel room
We slept three on a single bed. Haha, and I'm thankful that Kat Phoebe and I slept facing the same direction the entire time. Ended up being the only one to wake up bright and early at 715am (we slept at 545am!), and taking advantage of HBO (failure to launch and War of the Worlds!) and going off to get breakfast. Haha, I swear, the early morning construction at my house has conditioned me to wake up early every morning. Gee.

And finally, the photos.

SURPRISE!

SURPRISE!

As usual, com's still zonkily wonky. So, I'll do a brief 10minutes summary, and let the pictures do the talking.

The day was spent with the seniors, mich kelvin marcus. Swensens, arcade, shopped and starbucks-ed. Shopping was good (but i burnt 50bucks in a day), with new acquisitions like 4 pairs of earrings!, underwear for shubha!, present and card for theBOY. Then, Starbucks (toffenut!!) with mich was fun with some alone-time, as she finally gets to hear my lovelife history. HAHA. Sorry babe, i took so long to tell you. Its just, I don't open up too easily. Oops.

Shubha's surprise party next! Ahhh, great ambience great food great company great dancing and of course, great birthday girl (:

Alright, for now, we'll let the pictures do that talking.
