Ice-skating? Not really.

Ice-skating? Not really.

Just today, I was saying that since UCL already offered Economics, I wouldn't really consider Warwick since UCL is of higher rank. Unless of course - this I said laughingly- Warwick offers me Law. Which will put me in a real pickle, since I prefer UCL, but I prefer Law as well.

I should never have opened my big mouth.

Warwick Law Conditional Offer: AAB

Goodness.

BUT, we'll cross the decision-making bridge when we reach it (one more school to hear from after all), and for now, we'll enjoy while we can. So here's the story of the ice-skating trip which turned out not to be an iceskating trip (sumsum! Go skating with me soon!)

Met Disha at my bus-stop in the morning. And travelling to pick Aneesa up was funny, punctuated with Aneesa's non-stop smses (are you reaching yet?!) and our laughter over how we kept saying the same thing (two more stops!) even when we were gazillion stops away. Haha.

Then, talking on the bus got so engrossed that we complete missed the Kallang stop, pressed the bell at a random stop without alighting (and leaving disha standing up alone so the driver thinks she's the culprit!), and finally alighting at Suntec, where we simply couldn't find the bus stop back.

SIGH. Yes, we got horribly lost, but somehow, it was expected. After all, we had Aneesa along ;) And because we couldn't find our way back, there goes the iceskating plans. Ploop.

Lost at the outside of Suntec (here's candid pictures of Disha who usually avoid cameras like plague!) -->

Hah. Gotcha.

Quick reflexes someone.

After walking around abit, debating the merits of only spending on food that lasts (because we're broke), and finding out the cinema have crappy movies, we ended up at the ARCADE. lol, here I shall add I beat the miss-I should-be-pro-in-anything-ungirly-and-unbimbotic-dishmoo at the car race!

-runs around room and waves arms wildly in a personal cheer-

And since we didn't spend any money on ice-skating, we decided to blow money on lunch. Hello PizzaHut (:

Aneesa darling! (argh, it's my fugly-picture day cos I slept late last night. Excuse the half-dead expression)

The three of us! (Dishmoo finally deigned to take a picture with us. Wowza.)

Ended up at the rafflesplace enjoying the river breeze and scenery. Haha, bumped into daddy! TSK. I never knew work involved chilling out at Clark Quay! And oh, retarded Aneesa started raving about how nice Fullerton is, before saying it looks like it's made of cardboard. Hmmm.

That's Aneesa's retarded attempt to stick her fingers in my photo

I had fun today with you two(: Meet up again when you get back from India alright? Yay.

from green to grey

from green to grey

I wanted to post this picture up in the previous post, but didn't, because it seemed stupid to be so attached to uniforms.
But Chorming convinced me otherwise ("it'll be funny!"), and so here you go, 4 sets of NJ and TK uniforms! -->

(:

I'll miss you guys, because it meant I never have to worry about what to wear on weekday mornings.

while the video loads..

while the video loads..

Today was spent at home (finally!) to nurse my flu, aching feet and tired eyes.
Packed my wardrobe and took out all the school-based tees and uniforms.
In the end, my wardrobe is now so empty, mum is in shock.

Yes, because she always claims I have too many clothes.
Now that all the school stuff are gone, my wardrobe is so pathetic that she guiltily donated a dress and top to me!

HAHAHAHAHA.

Nothing much to blog about, except the show I'm watching is loading so slowly, I'm losing patience!
It's the green forest show which I watched during promos last year (hah!), but missed about 1/3 of the episodes due to mugging.
So I'm re-watching it and its making me cry again.
At least, when it doesn't keep stopping because it's loading slowly.
Now that it does that, I don't feel any emotions at all.
LOL.

Oh and I found I own something that completely matches my blue-gold combi for Prom. Too bad it's flats, so i can't wear it. Nevertheless, I'm still saving money and not buying shoes ;) Heh, old shoes will do.

An enchanting fairytale, not.

An enchanting fairytale, not.

Conversation with Celine last night

C:Hey sam, I'm a girl!!
S: hmmm yes?
C:Which means, don't be late! Since you're the one who only makes guys wait for you, never girls.

Ah. How true.
So in an effort to be on time for my dear girl, I commited a personal pet peeve and ran up the escalator- cling-clong style -in order to catch the train.
Ended up waiting 20minutes for her, which prompted the next conversation:

S: Hey, so you're treating me like the guy in this relationship?
C: Nah, we equals. Guys are lower beings.

Hahahahaha. I thought that was hilarious.

Anyway, spent the day at Orchard shopping around for accessories. Check out the blink-blink-ouch-my-eyes-are-hurting earrings -->

And of course, the usual camwhoring, but today we used Wisma mirrors rather than Taka's:

Take 1 Take 2

Headed off to Lido to watch ENCHANTED after that. Honestly, we didn't like that show at all. It was too sugary sweet, unrealistic and unbelievable. Plot was a nice typical disney fairytale, but couple that with unconvincing acting, and you'd find that it's hard to grasp the viewer's suspension of disbelief.

Or maybe we're just cynical people who don't believe in happily-ever-afters. hmmm. Funny how the most cynical of my friends, aka winstn the bittergourd, liked the show because its sweet. Haha. Sugar is an apt name aye?

But nevertheless, a picture with the movie poster -->

Lunch was good. At a soba restaurant at Paragon. Yum, I loved the springy chewy soba.

Shopped around some more for a clutch for me after the show. Futile shopping (urgh), because I'm completely cheapo when it comes to buying something I probably won't ever use again. Anyone out there willing to lend me a gold or blue one on Dec 3rd? Pretty please.

Walked into this Art Installation thing and started camwhoring. Because it was clear glass, everyone stared. We carried on shamelessly, while praying no one we knew will walk past. Luckily, no one did (: Here you go, pictures in the art installation place -->

my camwhoring skills are rusty and off-center huh.

We took a picture of each other taking a picture of one another. HAHA.

That was it, I guess. Had a great sam-cel bonding time with you, sweetheart. Can't wait for Dec 3rd, and well, to see if we look like twins in same colours ((:

Oh and just for fun, here's how my bed looks like currently. Seven shopping bags on it because my mum refuses to let me open them till my wardrobe is packed. DWEEB.

of barbies, heels and dresses.

of barbies, heels and dresses.

Packing my room this morning made me realise what kat said on FB was quite true.
Samantha Eng, you are one sick girl.

Packed my barbies (yesss, any problems with that?),
and saw that Ken was decked out in a tight hot pink miniskirt.

hmmmm. i suppose this explains my affinity with gays doesn't it, J&W? ;)

(okok, don't scream at me. i'm kidding sugars. Hee)

Anyway the quest for the dress brought me to Vivo today.
Had lunch at an interesting place called White Dog Cafe.
Hah, servings were a bitch.
(okay, it wasn't. I just felt like punning. Ignore.)

Went through serious damage to my heels (both mine and the shoes), gazillion shops, constant squealing phonecalls to Celine because I feel lost in vivo, a new denim skirt from RED, another phone call to Celine to ask if it'd be horribly wrong to get this really hot top and pair it with jeans for prom, before i finally got THE DRESS.

(((: I feel really relieved now.

Although I really liked the top so much more, I guess it just doesn't feel prom-ish enough.
Sigh, and 100plus bucks is too much to buy it for daily wear :(

Anyway, the dress is blueish (with a teeny green tinge).
Yes I know, blue again!
Blue like my Sec 4 prom, blue like Celine's dress and blue like her Sec 4 prom as well.
Hmm, it's halter too.
Gaccks, this is a case of wearing almost the same thing as your date! Hoho.

Feet hurts from three consecutive days of heels.
Tomorrow will make it four, since Celine says: Dress up.

Woohoo, my T20 will be delighted.

Whoosh

Whoosh

i must say, i'm mightily impressed with RSAF's brochure.
The sound of success. HAHA.

[edit]
Tottering around shops the entire day in heels makes you feel suddenly very short when you get home.

Anyhoo. Dress-hunting today was the exact opposite of that day.
Then, I found nothing I liked. Today, I found too many.
I have 7 dresses on reserve, yes SEVEN. (i'm such a dress-whore!)

But it was because the nice ones were too expensive,
the cheaper ones were not as nice,
and the only nice and not expensive one had to be a tube-dress which simply cannot defy gravity that well on me, as opposed to it being on sumsum.

hmm. I figured, now that sumsum's away. We can crack as many jokes as we like at her expense (((:

So, I still don't have a dress yet. But i came home with a new top (which made me extremely broke) and a new swimsuit.

I obviously have prioritsing issues! Urgh.

Ah well. Got my toffenut (latte) fix at Starbucks. Starbucks feels so warm and cosy now with all the little Christmas decor and music. I feel Christmas-y darlings! And extremely tempted to put up cheesy departmental-stores Christmas songs up on my blog just to spread the Chirstmas love! ((:

-
On a more depressing note, if you take a look at the newspapers today, you'll see an NJ pe teacher (aka mini-mr-tong) has gone missing in the dragonboating accident.

Normally, seeing such stories make me feel this pang of sadness.
But this time, actually knowing the person involved makes me feel even worse.
Sadness, shock and a touch of surrealism.

It makes you think doesn't it?
Life is just so damn fragile.

To quote MITC,
Death has a hundred hands and walks by a thousand ways.

But let's hope the quote doesn't apply in this case.

Pray for him, will you?

[edit 2]
may he rest in peace now.

Goodbye Levi's

Goodbye Levi's

acckkks.
my room is still under-packing and the entire place is filled with separate piles of primary, secondary and jc materials! And because my bed is swamped with all these, I don't think I have a place to sleep tonight.
Ho.

I know how you felt now.

Day was spent blasting the radio and repacking my entire room. Some of the songs made me feel like dancing so much again! (dance class, jo?)
While some reminded me of different people.
It made me realise that you just tend to connect certain songs to certain people.
It's like my colour theory.

Night was spent with my 6 wee cousins. Storytelling session turned into storyshouting session. Haha, such noisy little tykes. But a cute bunch ((:

Tomorrow morning was supposed to be spent at tm with xinni winstn and jaf queuing for the Levi's jeans exchange. Then I read a blog that said last week at suntec, the queue was snaking already at 6am. Nuts. So being practical people who adore our sleep, we're not doing the crazy thing anymore. Which means I better start earning money to buy jeans ((:

Recommend me tutees guys!

WorWor

WorWor

hello I am dead tired.
All the shopping is getting on my tired nerves.

Dental in the morning was the usual facial-like experience (although I wouldn't know, but my ex-dentist said so), what with the water spraying all over my face and the dentist having to clean it every oh-three-seconds.

Hee. I wonder if zee flouride improves zee complexion.

Lunched at Novena's Pastamania. Creamychicken is not as nice anymore.

Oh. And the six of us came from six different schools: RJ HCI NJ VJ TJ ACSIB.
Sigh. Welcome to the world of elitism.

The ACSIB guy went for YLS as well.
I am extremely thankful he is not among those who knew I walked into a pond there. Phew.

Dinner at a yummy Jap restaurant (i feel pampered!), followed by an hour walking around to hunt for a prom dress. It's irritating how most dresses now are below my knees! Hello, I'm not considered very short you know. Above average hmphh.

Borrowed books! But i'm going to re-read harrypotter7 first. Otherwise, if i ever do play a book 7 trivia, i will die horribly. Nothing memorised yet.

Sorry if this post is choppy.

And mSn convo with Jaf and Winnie iS noW typed like that Wor. iSn't it a funny Joke? and Winnie, Stop Warbooking Wor.

i'm nuts. garbled post.

from sneakers to stilettos

from sneakers to stilettos

If you read Sophie Kinsella's Can You Keep A Secret, there's this part where the protagonist says that if a day doesn't turn out as you intended, you should go back and chart the differences between your Goals and your Results.

Let's take a look at today shall we?

Goal: Study hard at home for the test tomorrow.
Result: Ended up heading to Parkway for a "short" lunch, which resulted in day-long shopping there as well. (hello winstn, how come i didn't bump into you at topshop!)

Overall Goal: Acquire a higher degree of intellect and knowledge.
Overall Result: Acquire a new pair of sparkly blue heels and a blue-green top from The Station.

-Stares morosely at what I've typed-

Mum refuses to let me open my two new bags of things until I pack my room squeaky clean. DWEEB. (me, not her. Lest she reads this.)

Random thought currently: I'm hungry. Last meal was at 1pm but I'm too lazy to walk to my kitchen to get food. Yeah, Welcome to the Lazy Life.

Random thought just now: I hate people who walk down escalators in heels. Pet peeve. The noisy cling-clonk sound. It's the same way how I never walk up escalators in my NJ skirt. Another pet peeve, but one I won't have to worry about anymore.

As you can see from the incoherent post, my intellect has seriously degraded thanks to retail-degeneration-of-mind. Hopefully, it won't last till tomorrow. For now- I'll just let the internal debate (to walk to the kitchen or not) continue.

Goodbye sweets.

another phase; another milestone

another phase; another milestone

and so, it ended.
You would have thought, that after months of looking forward to this day, the end would be a huge fireworks-worthy bang.
But it wasn't.
It felt normal.
I remember the only thought that when through my head when it ended was:
God, the gym is really freezing. I need to pee badly.

Bathos, baby.

Headed off to Grams' for lunch before going to Orchard to meet my darling Chinablacks.
Changes aplently;
The rebonded-hair Shubha - join the club darling(:
And the light-brown-haired Phoebe - I can't recognise you!

Pictures from Modestos:

We love hot lesbian action.

The two pure Chinas in Chinablacks.

Pretty Kat! (hello you don't have to worry about me putting up fugly pictures of you on fb because you look pretty in all of them!)

Headed off to Borders Bistro for coffee after that, because sumsum refuses to go try Starbucks' Toffee Nut. Ahhh. Kat, go toffee-nuting with me soon! Pictures from Wheelock:

Amatuer- camwhoring, as we pretend to look at the camera (like how inexperienced ones do) instead of looking at the camera in the reflection.

More cam-whoring (I'm the only amatuer here)

Acting dance-y (:

And this has got to be my favourite picture of the day. It's a cake called G-Spot which Kat Zhang and I found. Ended up bringing the entire Chinablacks there and stood there attempting to ask the waitress: Hi, where's your G-Spot? Ah. We do the stupidest things. And it had to be witnessed by the A01 guys. hoho.

Shubha, my photo-partner! (we still insist we're really good at photos together. Delusional.)

Actually this one's decent, cos my hand shook and the picture turned out blurry. Hee.

Presenting to you, the CHINABLACKS. No absentees baby (:

Headed off to Timbre after that. Hmmm, the singer of the band was bad. And music was too loud to talk, but other than that, the ambience was not bad i guess.

Because I'm too good a girl to drink alcohol, I got a mocktail. Heee.

Meow Kat (:
And again. (haha darling you look hot with eyeliner!)

And there you go, the post-As have officially started.

They say Life Begins At 40.
They're wrong.

It begins now.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of our lives.

A taste of heaven

A taste of heaven

I got a snail mail from UCL today.
Conditional Offer for UCL Economics:
AAA.
A for Mathematics.
A for Economics.
A for either Physics or Literature.

I'm really happy, yet
I'm worried.
Now that the stakes are higher,
I've got so much more to lose if I don't attain perfection.

The As have not ended, but the haunting over results has already begun.

Thank you to the teachers who gave me good predicted grades.

It's the last lap tomorrow now.
I promise to run for all it's worth.

happy two years

happy two years

So.
Exactly two years ago, we ended O-levels.
And exactly two years ago, this blog came into existence.

It's been a great two years.
Thank you for being the outlet for my rants and raves.

Happy Birthday.

[edit] On a completely different note, kat and I are discussing my marriage prospects on FB.
Hmmmmm. Way to go sam, Physics and Lit how? [/edit]

[edit 2]
Major changes to THE PLAN. I am now officially quite free on the 24th, 25th and 26th. (Psst kat, Sumsum says we can all meet up without her and have a bitchfest about her! Let's do a fugly picture collection!)

Since its the last time mugging there,

Since its the last time mugging there,

here's a picture for keepsake (Look who's tallest as usual!)

Coffee-based Toffee Nut Frapp is surprisingly interesting. A sharp kick of bitterness, followed by a sweet aftertaste. I like it. (good taste you!)

The Strive for Perfection

The Strive for Perfection

Curled up at coffeebean with my Heart of Darkness today. With just two more papers left, the mugging mood has turned from stressful to relaxing, and even enjoyable. Funny, 5 days from the end and I have a feeling I'll actually miss studying soon enough.

I went for a night swim just now, the way I always do when I need some time to reflect and banish those inner demons. The demons were powerful this time. Demons that said I screwed up. Demons that made me feel disappointed in myself for knowing I didn't hit my full potential for subjects that truly matter. Its like broad jump. You swing back and forth steadily to gain the momentum, but just as you take off, you hesitate, and there goes all the effort. Wham.

You can't jump very far.

I've been hearing people, talking to people and blogsurfing. Many are telling themselves and each other to lower expectations. That perhaps getting a B is good enough. Why strive for perfection? I've heard all of that. Yet, I cannot bring myself to lower any expectations. No, not because I enjoy deluding myself - I do know which papers were well done and which were not. But because any lowering of expectations would mean a shattering of dreams.

Perfection is boring, they say. But show me a person who prefers a colourful string of Bs and Cs, and I'll show you pigs that bungee-jump.

Who are we to ask someone to lower their expectations? Who are we to judge if someone's dreams are all fluff and clouds? No one. We can't, because everyone has their own set of goal and amibtions. We can choose to alter our own expectations, but as for others', we can only observe.

After all, to quote from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness,
"We live as we dream - alone."

Goodbye Sunshine

Goodbye Sunshine

So,
after not completing two humanities papers,
i've finally realised i write too S-L-O-W-L-Y.

Yes, too slowly. Like a snail.
You can call me Samantha the Snail if you like.
See, there's even sibilant alliteration there for a nice ring to it.

Yesterday I forgot to eat my mandatory kinder beuno before my killer Lit paper.
Today, I forgot to eat it before killer econs as well.
Someone remind me to eat it tomorrow alright?

Goodbye sunshine.
I feel like crap.

Monday, November 12, 2007

iCandy

iCandy

The musuem-ing debate continues on kat's blog (bet your counter will rocket!)
Its funny, with Sum and Kat all for the cultural experience while Shubha and Phoebe are wildly against it.
Like I said, it's a pretty okay experience, especially since its the school holidays and we can execute Kat's another brilliant idea (for more brilliant ideas see our fb wall-to-wall) of scaring the kids and couples.
Nice one kat (:
hey, why don't we do a belated halloween dress-up and scare them all? (:

Oh and whatever it is, just debate it out when you guys are done with As (and i'm not!) and message me where to meet before my Lit paper. Will do? (:
And please, I wanna go home and bathe yes? (meet up around 3?)
Because 1) I refuse to walk around in a drab of grey, 2) I refuse to carry heavy jeans to school, 3) I refuse to carry my lit texts around until the next morning.

Anyhow. Did Lit with jaf at the airport today.
I swear, mugging with jaf is like mugging with a girly girl.
Just take a look at his comments when i declare a guy as hot:

oh but, he's really fair! he's fairer than you even, sam!
ooooh, look at his legs. He has FAT legs.
His legs damn hairy leh.
You know, hair on fair legs is really gross.
Actually, he's quite fat. No, stout. No, like a teapot.

and the final clincher:
Maybe he's gay. (STOP STEALING JAF!)

And jaf, being jaf, had to take pictures of him using my camera, to which his first shot looked like we were taking the (not hot) guy next to us. The guy, thinking we kept gossiping about him, finally got discomforted and moved away. Hoho.

the iCandy (who is so not fat):

Starsbucks-ed after jaf complained the canteen chairs were too hard for him (you sissy)
Tried the toffee nut frapp after hearing winston rave about it on his blog.
bleah, its too sweet and heaty. (bad taste you!)

oh! and this lady whom me joshua ben and ellyna met while can-tabbing called,
and told me she has collected two huge cartons of can tabs!
WOW. I called joshua and asked him to go get it, in other words, ensuring lignum will own the greenlink competition next year (((((:

anyway, it was still a pretty unproductive day.
dang. which means I have to go off the com now and mug till wee hours of the morning.
More coffee please.

I think i shall miss the airport once all the mugging is done.
hmmm.

birthday wishes to...

birthday wishes to...

a girl who has never failed to make me laugh,
a girl who i can confide a million things to,
a girl who eats the same yongtaufoo with me everyday,
a girl who would go to the rooftop with me to 'enjoy the rain',
a girl who would happily take ballooning skirts pictures with me,
a girl whom i can count on to skip school/lectures with,
a girl with her 'highs and dips' but i still love you anyway,
a girl with good taste in choosing friends (ie me!) and in enemies(and is not afraid to show it),
a girl with these incredibly long and hot legs (bitchhhh!),
a girl who manages to actually look good in our darb of grey (bitchhhh again!),
and of course, to snag an extremely hot easterner (hahaha)

here's to the girl who's been a great friend- and more (:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOW TSERUEY.

and the world lay spread before me

and the world lay spread before me

so, i deleted the previous post because it sounded too emo.
ackks. I don't know why, i'm turning pretty emo suddenly.
i would like to attribute it to reading my morbid Lit texts, except...
i haven't quite started. Hah.

last night's insomnia was solved by whining to kailun.
he was really nice about it, but its funny how i'm turning to a junior (same age but junior nevertheless) for Alevel stress advice.
like I don't have any same age or older friends to get advice from.
hmmm.
pathetic, i know.

i went to bed finally.
i shouldn't have. because i dreamt that i missed out 2 pages in my exam and lost 48 marks in the process.
to borrow a euphemism from Dicken's, when i awoke in the middle of the night,
"i could at first see no stars" in the night sky.
(my bed is next to the window, so this is pretty applicable)

anyhow. enough of the morbidness.
as promised to my little north-indian Shubha,
Happy Diwali.

[edit]
Hello if you check out Straits Times today, there are stupid university rankings.
Like how NUS dropped from 19 to 33.
And how LSE dropped from 17 to 59.
Stupid.

INCOHERENCE!

INCOHERENCE!

oh boy, my inbox tagboard and phone calls are all teeming with after As plans.
everything sounds so exciting now, i'd better make a list! (:

but first, an update on today's mugging.
coffee-beaned at expo, which was quite an interesting experience since it was a public holiday and there were plenty of exhibitions!
book fair: i really wanted to buy books but the queue was omg.
sports car/car fair: they had live demostrations of the cars zooming here and there with tyres squealing like nobody's business!
food fair: nothing to shout about but the queues were omg as well.

as you can see, productive levels have been low.
SAMANTHA ENG YOU ARE NOT ALLOCATIVE EFFICIENT! ALLOCATE SOME TIME AND BRAIN POWER TO YOUR STUDIES PLEASE.

haha. Anyway just when i was feeling bored, theBOY called and asked me to meet him for lunch, which i couldn't since I'm supposed to (i quote kat's blog) "live eat breathe Alevels" :(
But hey, wait till after As I'll be badgering you to meet me for this and that and that and that since I'm going to be very free (and bored) when everyone else leaves Singapore. sigh.

Then followed by the mass exchange of smses with aneesa and celine (about after As plans!) which brings my to my max this month. NO MORE.
And the 30minute phonecall with celine about yet some more after As plans.
Heh. I told you its exciting! Its time for the list!

Oh my god math(2)

Oh my god math(2)

Stats is the love baby (((((((((:

Oh except i completely forgot to read up on sampling methods. So goodbye to the 5 marks worth of essay-styled answer for math.

And pigs are flying today.
i got back a piece of pc from whitby (ok my first piece of work i've submitted),
and he gave me a very shocking A.

And for once the comments do not read:
You need deeper analysis, Samantha!

But instead:
This is good, Samantha. If you could attain this level of literary analysis in your exam you would do very well!

I see a glimmer of hope now. This is a sign, yes?
Things are turning for the better.
I'm positive.

ps. sum, i really hope you're feeling much better. ignore the crazy pregnant bitch and keep going (:

remember how i said i like the rain on exam days?

remember how i said i like the rain on exam days?

it's the morning of math and my nose is running away.

oh did i mention, i have no water supply from 9am today.
hahahahahaha damn.

(the blogging in rhyme isn't intentional at all. but to take a leaf out of shubha's book of inventing new literary terms, i would called it a rhyming triplet followed by an unrhyming singlet. Hee.)

bright lights

bright lights

i've been stuck on this song.
too bad imeem doesn't have it for me to put it up here.

i dreamt of the end of As last night.
I remember there was Sum, talking and making plans.
Shubha, mugging for SATs.
And Kat, jumping around with me excitedly and telling shubha to stop studying.

It was a good dream.

random ramblings.

random ramblings.

starbucks-ed at the airport today. nothing much happened until miss-charlene-judith-lee-shu-ling popped up and said hi! yes, this darling whom i used to be such good friends with in lower secondary. funny how we haven't met up for so long, we still vaguely know about each other's lives, because we such horrible kaypoh inquisitive souls who silently read each other's blogs. HAH. (woman, if you're reading this TAG. *points to the left*) Anyway, catching up was good, with the usual gossip on who's doing good in school, who's this position and that, who's still the same as ever, who's attached to whom, and of course, bitching (a little) about the one everyone still loves to bitch about. Lmao. Oh and an interesting bit of the conversation, charlene commented that someone in mj thinks a certain soccer guy in nj is hot. AND, his photos have appeared in my blog before. HAHA. Go figure, because its easy-peasy.

bumped into jo and cheryl on their way back. and we decided on the spur of the moment to do stupid things like take airport pictures. There you go, jo in her trademark ogl shirt, me being the tallest (HAH) and cheryl looking so demure as usual :

After that, we headed to mini toons with the intention of buying something silly and useless. but nothing was nice so i ended splurging on silly and useless hoop earrings from minibits instead. so much for being broke.

the rambling's done. goodbye.

a little perspective

a little perspective

Do you remember a time when you used to be so easily contented?

Today I was mugging at the airport when I observed these two little kids sitting at a table nearby. They were your typical type of kids - young, happy and carefree. Their father bought them this huge colourful ice kachang, and you should have seen their faces when they saw it. Their eyes lit up, sparkled even, as they dug in gleefully (much to the misery of another two children nearby whose parents bought the uncolourful chengting instead) into the dessert. They looked every inch happy and contented kids, without a worry in the world.

Do you remember those times still? Times when life revolved around toys, candy, television programmes, numbers, what flavour ice-cream to eat next and how to keep that 'monkey-bar champ' title at the nearby playground.

Times when life revolved around the alphabet.

Not just the first letter of it.

daddy's girl

daddy's girl

i went to find my dad during his lunch hour to have lunch with him today, and we had a nice long talk about jobs and job satisfaction. turns out my mum and dad are polar opposites. dad thinks that the most important thing is to be happy in doing what you do. mum thinks it's money that's the most important. somehow, i tend to agree with my dad.

take the road less travelled if you must.

you make me smile, please
stay for a while - now.
